Supervision is a supportive, dynamic relationship between professionals in the helping professions. It has been one of the richest catalysts of my own career as a counselling practitioner. It is a vital, safe, and ethically mandatory space where therapists can reflect on their work and safely learn.
The BACP mandate that practicing registered counsellors have at least 1.5 hrs supervision per calendar month. They see the role of supervision to be “to ensure standards, enhance quality, advance learning, stimulate creativity, and support the sustainability and resilience of the work being undertaken”.
As supervisors, we hold in mind the importance of the process of forming and maintaining the relationships that we have been fortunate to experience; and key to my own model, philosophy and practice is the collaborative and trusting nature of this work. We use the seven-eyed model of supervision as a basis, but will bring in many aspects of my experience when we are working together.
Supervision is available online – I always suggest to have an initial session to see how we can work best together. Please enquire via email. Occasional face to face supervision can also be arranged.
